Each year we delivery 2 days of training in Visual Thinking and Practice at the Kaospilots. Over the three years it takes to become a Kaospilot, you will have gone through all three Bigger Picture Modules. Team 14 will graduate next summer as the first team who has the three modules.
We participated in the conference “Constructing Worlds” in Copenhagen supporting Bliss Browne delivering her key note. The many participants were discussing the way we – by relations and communication – continually construct the world we are part of. We can not be part of the meaningmaking happening as we speak. The question we debated with Bliss Browne was – and will continue to be with us – is:
* How does the visuals we delivery contribute to the collective construction of meaning?
* What are the possibilities and the risks? What is the role of the visual facilitator?
* In what ways do you improve your visuals to really support the collective?
We are very proud. As of last Monday, Loa Baastrup has started her internship at Bigger Picture. Loa will be following our work, contributing to both training and deliveries. Loa has already been in the spotlight graphically recording her first session at the Constructing Worlds. Together with Stine Arensbach Loa supported Bliss Brownes session. You can follow Loa’s work and explorations into visual language, thinking and practice on her blog Visuel Dialog (It is in Danish).
Several hundred young people from all over the world meet saturday to tuesday in Soenderborg, Denmark, to come up with new ideas to face the climate challenges that the world is facing. This was four intense days with ideation, new friendships (and most likely new sweethearts), fun and hard work for the young people, and resulted in several concrete ideas that will be presented at the COP 15 Summit in December.
We are right now preparing our participation in Bright Green Youth in Sønderborg, Denmark. BGY has invited over 500 young minds from all over the world to give the Climate Council at COP 15 Summit some visions and good ideas as to face the climate challenges we are facing.
Bigger Picture participated in the Cradle 2 Cradle conference in Alsion, Sønderborg on the 12th of June. Here Michael Braungart discussed myths and facts about the Cradle 2 Cradle way of thinking, acting, production and consuming. He pleaded that the “consume less/waste less”-discource was the reason for the dawning “climate fatigue” among the population. If we instead are able to create a beautiful agenda, where our living standards also improves, we are on to the right track. I agree on that!
Today I received this lovely drawing from my visual collegue in Kiev, Ira, to remind me of the fantastic job we did together there.
Bigger Picture was asked to create the visual set up for a three day workshop i Kiev. The topic was a HUB start up in Ukraine and a get-together for around 70 entrepreneurs in Ukraine and Russia. Ira helped me in creating the visual resume of the three days, where Bliss Brown, the strong force behind Imagine Chicago, and I created the frame work for building their vision and strategies. See the photos from the workshop.
