Bigger Picture participated in the Cradle 2 Cradle conference in Alsion, Sønderborg on the 12th of June. Here Michael Braungart discussed myths and facts about the Cradle 2 Cradle way of thinking, acting, production and consuming. He pleaded that the “consume less/waste less”-discource was the reason for the dawning “climate fatigue” among the population. If we instead are able to create a beautiful agenda, where our living standards also improves, we are on to the right track. I agree on that!
We do know, that a visual language can help us make meaning in a world of complexity and can support us in making meaning of it all. But exaclty how does it work? Tom Wujec, who is a information designer gives here an explanation to why and how visuals work. (And by the way – it’s supercool!!).
Today I received this lovely drawing from my visual collegue in Kiev, Ira, to remind me of the fantastic job we did together there.
Bigger Picture was asked to create the visual set up for a three day workshop i Kiev. The topic was a HUB start up in Ukraine and a get-together for around 70 entrepreneurs in Ukraine and Russia. Ira helped me in creating the visual resume of the three days, where Bliss Brown, the strong force behind Imagine Chicago, and I created the frame work for building their vision and strategies. See the photos from the workshop.
As part of our “Summer Vacation Service” we here bring a talk Ole made at the 13th Annual Design Management Institute in Milan. This very interactive session circles around how we with simple visualisations can make a positive change and maybe even solve very complex global challenges.
Last year we did a webinar with VizThink where we explained how we believe visuals have a role to play when it comes to change. As a “summer vacation service” [BP SVS] we here bring the link so that everyone who forgot or did not attend can seek input.
